T-Levels

Offering industry placement and practical experience alongside classroom learning, preparing students for real-world employment in their chosen career.

What are T-Levels?

T-Levels are an alternative to A-Levels after GCSEs, offering a 2-year programme that awards a nationally recognised certificate. The certificate highlights your grade (pass, merit, distinction, or distinction*), outlines the skills and knowledge gained, and is worth UCAS points.

For example, a T-Level Distinction* equates to three A* grades at A-Level and is recognised by universities, supporting your journey into higher education if you choose to continue studying.

The 2022 cohort of T-Level students in the UK achieved a  92.2% pass rate. Of these, 34.6 earned a Distinction*, 39.8% received a Merit, and 17.8% achieved a Pass – source FE Week.

Why choose T-Levels?

They combine classroom learning with hands-on industry experience, providing students with real-world skills for skilled employment or higher apprenticeships. Developed with employer input, T-Levels prepare students for the demands of their chosen field and offer a head start in the workforce.

What is different about T-Levels?

T-Levels have been created with employers – you will spend 80% of the time in the classroom and 20% of the time on a 45 day placement, learning and developing the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.

T-Levels provide a minimum of 315 hours (approximately 45 days) of industry placement, offering practical experience alongside classroom learning. This hands-on approach is intended to prepare students for real-world employment in their chosen career.

T-Levels in Healthcare 

A T-Level in health is ideal for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in healthcare. Within the classroom element you will gain a general understanding of health and science as well as undertake more specific learning in areas such as providing person centred care, anatomy and physiology and diseases and disorders.

In addition to this you will have a minimum of 9 weeks of placement where you will gain experience of what it is like to work in a healthcare setting, developing new skills and knowledge that employers really value.
