Nurses, therapists, admin staff and managers were among the winners in the seventh annual Sirona Awards for Excellence 2018.

Held at The Bristol and Bath Science Park last night, the event celebrates Sirona’s foundation as a not-for-profit organisation providing high quality NHS and Local Authority funded care.

This year the ceremony was themed around the 70th birthday of the NHS and saw two special awards for the occasion as well as a stunning cake in the shape of the number 70.

Also new this year was an award open to all staff working for the Community Children’s Health Partnership and this was won by Karen Wilmot, Occupational Therapy Lead from Bristol Community Health.

It was sponsored by Cordell Health, Node4, Storetec, Credence, Ralph Allen Press and our own Sirona Foundation.

Janet Rowse, Sirona’s chief executive, said: “It is so important that we do take the opportunity to celebrate the astonishing achievements that are part of what Sirona great. The Care Quality Commission inspectors said that “going above and beyond was just the norm in Sirona”. Our awards night demonstrated that this is still so true.”

Simon Knighton, chairman, said: “This year’s nominations were, without exception, brilliant examples of the professionalism and dedication that I see day in day out when I visit services across Sirona; and those who were shortlisted for these awards were the best of an extremely impressive bunch so well done to all of you.

“It is the very nature of awards that I can’t give every single person nominated or shortlisted a trophy to take home but I am so proud of every individual and team that makes Sirona what it is today.”
