One number, many services

By 17th March 2020No Comments

From 1 April, there will be one number for people needing to access adult community NHS health services in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

0300 125 6789 will be the number to call for those receiving healthcare services in their homes from community teams including District Nurses, Therapists and Support Workers.

It will also be the number clinicians can use to refer people into community health services no matter where they live in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, including GP urgent referrals that require a response within 2 hours.

It is a 24/7 non-emergency telephone line known as a Single Point of Access for adult health care which will enable people to access services easily no matter where they live in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Calls will be answered by administrators and clinicians who know the local areas with callers initially asked to select an option based on where they live, however overtime digital technology will help automatically connect people to the right person.

Our website – features a leaflet and resource library and uses Browsealoud assistive software which adds speech, reading and translation to the site to make it accessible for all.

Dedicated email addresses for individuals with accessibility needs who may need specific visual, hearing or language support will also be accessed online.

From 1 April this site will also link clinicians to Remedy, which is an online resource run by NHS BNSSG Clinical Commissioning Group to provide GPs and clinicians with easily accessible referral information.
