Leading employers from across Bristol are coming together to offer essential support and guidance to job seekers in the city at an in-person recruitment event.
The Our City, Your Jobs event, hosted by the Bristol Race Equality Strategic Leaders’ Group and Bristol Race Equality HR Leaders’ Group, will take place on Thursday 7 October at City Hall, Bristol and will provide an opportunity for people to hear from some of the city’s major public sector and other sector organisations about career opportunities within their business.
A wide range of job roles on offer include administrator, performance analyst, caretaker, project management, events assistant and store driver.
The employers will also be available to support job seekers with completing application forms, offering advice on achieving career goals and providing guidance on the interview process.
While the event is open to everyone throughout the city, organisers are particularly interested in attendance from Black, Asian and minority ethnic individuals and communities in a bid to support local organisations improve their employee diversity.
Councillor Asher Craig, Deputy Mayor of Bristol and lead for equalities, said: “This event continues our efforts to ensure opportunities are available to all in the city. The Race Equality Strategic Leaders’ Group acknowledges a need to progress race equality in the workplace and this event will play a role in helping both ourselves and the attending organisations to continue to improve diversity amongst employees.
“As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, I know many people have sadly become unemployed and are struggling to find work. If you are looking for a new role at the moment, I would strongly encourage you to register and come along to our event. You’ll be able to talk to some of our city’s leading employers and receive integral advice that could see you securing a job offer as a result of the event.”
The event will take place on Thursday 7 October, 4pm to 6pm, at Conference Hall, City Hall, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR.
All attendees will need to show proof of double vaccination or a negative lateral flow (rapid) test, using the NHS COVID pass. Face coverings will also be required during the event.
