Sirona care & health has published its Quality Account for 2025/26, highlighting a year of significant progress in improving patient care, strengthening services and investing in its workforce and communities.

The annual report sets out how the organisation continues to deliver high-quality care across three key areas – safety, clinical effectiveness and patient experience.

A major theme throughout the year has been innovation and service transformation. In children’s services, Sirona has made strong progress towards introducing a single point of access, simplifying referrals and improving access for families. Digital solutions, including online pathways and improved information for patients, are helping ensure people are directed to the right care more quickly.

Significant improvements have also been made in specialist services. The podiatry programme has introduced new ways of working, strengthened clinical prioritisation and improved access for high-risk patients. These changes have already led to a reduction in overdue care and a downward trend in incidents, demonstrating safer and more efficient services.

Patient safety remains a central focus. Sirona has successfully embedded the national Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, promoting a culture of learning and continuous improvement. Incident reporting has increased, supported by strong staff engagement and high levels of mandatory training completion, while Duty of Candour compliance has reached 100%, reinforcing transparency with patients and families.

The report also highlights excellent performance in infection prevention, with zero cases of several serious infections recorded across rehabilitation units, alongside consistently strong medicines management.

Patient experience continues to be a major strength. More than 95% of people using Sirona services reported a good or very good experience, with response rates increasing significantly through the use of digital surveys and new feedback tools.

Investment in staff and organisational culture has also been a priority, with improvements in engagement, leadership visibility and inclusion. Staff survey participation has increased, and new initiatives are supporting wellbeing, professional development and a more open, supportive workplace

Beyond clinical care, Sirona has continued to deliver wider social value, including the development of a £1.2 million community wellbeing fund and innovative programmes such as green social prescribing, supporting thousands of people to improve their health and wellbeing.

Looking ahead, the organisation has set ambitious priorities for the coming year, including reducing pressure ulcers, improving diabetes care, shortening waiting times and expanding digital access to services.

Overall, the Quality Account demonstrates a strong trajectory of improvement, with clear evidence of better outcomes, growing patient satisfaction and a continued commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care for local communities.
