Teenagers and the transition to adulthood

Some neurodivergent people can find periods of transition very difficult. Children and young people may struggle with changes linked to switching schools or exams, and older teenagers may find it hard adapting to the adult world or transitioning to university or college. However, changes can be really enjoyable and positive and there are resources and people who can help young people and their families to prepare.

You can see our preparing for adulthood page for guidance and advice on the transition to adulthood or use the tiles below for information about each area.
