Mental Health Support Teams in schools

Mental Health Support Teams work in schools to support children and young people with anxiety, low mood, and emotional wellbeing. They also guide parents in supporting their child’s mental health.

  • Deliver short-term, structured support, often using cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques.
  • Group and One-to-One Work: Support is offered through both individual sessions and group programs tailored to specific needs.

These teams are currently only available in specific schools though we are working to roll these teams out wider. Please speak to your school’s mental health lead, pastoral staff or your school nurse to understand whether they are available in your school.

Please use our wellbeing and mental health support links above. If you are still worried about your child’s physical or mental health, please contact your GP.
