DrDoctor and managing your appointments
We’ve partnered with DrDoctor, a digital engagement platform which uses a portal to help people in our care stay up to date with communications about their appointments and care. We can also send messages about your appointments using DrDoctor and provide updates about your care.
Throughout 2026 we will be using DrDoctor in more ways, and we will update this page with more details when updates are made.
Text messages about your appointments and care
If we have a mobile phone number for you in our records, you may receive information about your appointments directly to your mobile device. This includes appointment confirmations and reminders relating to your care.

When your appointment is booked, you may receive a text confirming your appointment to the mobile number we have for you. This confirmation may be followed by reminders ahead of your appointment.
You may also receive additional information about your appointment such as clinic changes or cancellations.

How do we use your data?
DrDoctor will have access to your contact information, but not detailed information about your health. The information is used to confirm your identity. This is done in compliance with data protection laws. Your information will not be shared without your consent and is stored securely using the standards mandated by the NHS.
