Specialist Community Neurology Service

This service is for adults in Bristol, North Somerset or South Gloucestershire aged 18 and over, who have a confirmed or suspected neurological condition. It is for people who may require specialist physiotherapy or occupational therapy due to the complex nature of their physical, social, and cognitive health.

In North Somerset, MS Nurses are also available to help people with multiple sclerosis (MS) manage their condition. Our team also offer support and education for carers and health and social care professionals.

• We provide specialist physiotherapy and occupational therapy to adults with neurological conditions in the community.
• Our service helps individuals work towards specific health-related goals through a defined period of therapy.
• We cover the areas of North Somerset, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire. Appointments can be held in-person or remotely by phone or video call.
• We work closely with the Speech and Language Therapy Service to offer a multi-disciplinary approach when needed and collaborate with other specialist services.
• After treatment, we support individuals in managing their condition independently and guide them to other community services or charities for ongoing support.
• We provide specialist advice to clinicians on physiotherapy or occupational therapy for adults with neurological conditions.
