Who is this service for?
We work with people aged 18 years old or above who are registered with a North Somerset GP and are housebound.
A housebound person is someone who is unable to leave their home environment due to a physical and/or psychological illness or who is currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or recovering from surgery.
What we do
We visit housebound individuals in the community for urgent or routine blood tests following a GP referral to our service.
Urgent blood tests will be carried out on the same day if we receive the referral before 2pm, otherwise this will take place the next day. Routine tests will be carried out the next day where practicable, or on a previously agreed specific date.
How do I access this service?
Please contact your GP with any queries related to blood tests or visit dates.
