What is a stroke?<\/h3>\n

A stroke is a serious life-threatening medical condition that happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off. Strokes are a medical emergency and urgent treatment is essential. The sooner a person receives treatment for a stroke, the less damage is likely to happen.<\/p>\n

Our Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) at Home delivers long-term support in the community for people who have experienced stroke, helping them regain their independence.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Stroke \u2013 specialist nursing<\/strong><\/h3>\n
