People’s Voice

What is the People’s Voice?

The People’s Voice are a team of volunteers made up of people in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. They help us to develop better services by providing feedback about their experiences and proving input on our policies.

How does the People’s Voice help our services?

Experience of health and care services is really important to us. We want to transform the way services are delivered to ensure they meet the needs of the people in our care and their families.

Working side by side with our People’s Voice helps us to understand those needs, and the best way to improve our services. They work with clinicians, local managers and senior executives to share their experiences to help shape how services are delivered.

Their work includes helping to develop governance and contributing to focus groups and recruitment panels for senior appointments. They also feed into our quality priorities and feedback on policies. They meet with people across our organisation to provide a different perspective and ensure we always put the people in our care at the heart at what we do.

Who is part of the People’s Voice?

Our People’s Voice is made up of people who have an interest in local health and working with us to improve our services. Some people on the Council use services, but this is not necessary in order to join and we welcome experience from different backgrounds.

It’s really important to us that our People’s Voice is as reflective of the population we serve as possible, as this will help us understand the needs of people in our communities.

You can read more about the experiences of our People’s Voice Chair Claire Valsler, and learn more about the benefits of joining.
